Nuff Said!!!
Ahh!! Ned are you teasing........or have you had a rough week......mmm!!! (((((Hugs)))) put your feet up relax ....have a drink......then dream of sunset over Cobh.....;) ;) ....feeling better .......ahh!! now give your lass a hug or two......and share your last bag of Taytos, with her........cheers Katy:)
I noticed while we had a very low tide recently that the Titanic Pier in the above picture is looking very dodgy. Many of the old timber piles at the front of it are rotten away below water level. I dont think it would take much for it to cave in and collapse. Pity really as it oozes history. I remember Vincie telling me when he took over the bar alongside that a preservation order was going to be placed upon it. I wonder what happened!
Hi Kieran.....maybe the planning officers in Council will have details....I just think its a crying shame the building has just been left to fall to bits.....can't imajine what its like inside if the roof has leaked.......ahh!!......try and see what you can find out via council....cheers Katy:)

I'm surprised any of the piers in Cobh town are still standing??
As for the Lazy feckers, It was just one of those days Katy when I arrived in my home from home, here that is! and no fecker posted nothin! If it happens again there'll be hell to pay!!!;)
Well, the roof of our local Post Office is leaking. A woman told me about it recently and I thought she was exagerating until I visited one day when it was pissing outside. Before long it was also pissing inside. Its private property so the Council cannot interfere and wouldnt anyway if they were permitted because of the financial factors. This is not like England Katy where the local councils actually have power to do things. A local council here cannot paint a door without getting approval first from a central government minister who holds the purse strings. When they talk here about local government reform, they actually mean taking it away from local bodies. Bring back John Bull- lol. Back to the piers -All except the one sinking with the Titanic are owned by the Harbour authority not the council. The post office is also owned by vincie and the guy he is fighting with in court. I can see why the post office doesnt want to spend on repairs as they will be vacting the place in a number of years anyway. The winner of the highcourt case will then take all! (an Irish Tale)
Cheers for the info Kieran....many times we have similar problems in England....owners not wishing to make good property they own, thats in disrepair....its still a shame the owners cant get their act together.....what Cobh needs is a lottery winner to take over the building.....ahh!!....:) Katy
Ned....truly hope your feeling aahh!! mm!! oooohhh!! today lol....in future we will try our best to post a message .....even if its ......lol.....ahh!! s**t  its still raining outside......and the rivers rising.....must buy new wellies....lol:) cheers Katy
I presume you were joking about the lotto winner Katy, as the guy that owned that building bought it through a lotto win. He was on the dole and is back on it again. The good news is that the derelict buildings across the street, are finally about to be developed. While passing there the other day, I bumped into the owners engineer. He showed me the plans that they have for developing it and hope to submit them to town hall in the coming weeks. The owner Pat McDonagh has a fastfood chain called 'supermacs' and is creating one in the buildings. The neighboring Italian Memmos, wont be happy but another fast food joint must be an improvement over broken glass and pigeon droppings! As for all this rain Katy, what more evidence do we need to tell us that we have fecked up the planet!
Hi Kieran......lol.....I did not know that the guy was truly a lottery winner.....well I never......and now he is back on the dole....ahh!!!:( ...as for the other buildings you mentioned....one looked like a pigeon cree.....think I may have a photo or two in my last batch.
I did notice that some buildings have been restored up from the old council offices, and that new owners are in selling goods.....mega.
And on the front overlooking the Harbour, they had a crane up....only the front of the building was present...all throu the back has been removed....hope my pics come out okay.....anyway thats enough gossip to keep our Ned happy, when he logs in...lol.....cheers Katy......(and its still p*****g down ....have you seen the news...ahh!! hope Angelas family are okay in their part of England....)
Gee Katy, just realised you must have been here in the last few weeks. That big crane is only in place for about 4 or 5 weeks. Ya, Vincies rags to riches to rags again is a truly Titanic story!
Hi Kieran....Ned....truly the weeks holiday in Cobh was great.....with yourstruly not being in the best of health. in the months leading up to the break ...and okay so we missed out on some of the trips, we had planned.....but just to be back on irish soil.....was the best medicine I could have........((Hugs)) to Margo and family who made our break extra special in Cobh....cheers Katy:)

K has he still got da house in da crescent???
Ya, thats about all he has left but he had that before he spent his last quid on a lotto ticket. Thing is, whethet he wins that court case or not, he still goes around smiling which is far more valuble than any money or property!

Good Morning Ned......please can you send us some sunshine that lasts more than a few hours......:)
I forgot to tell you and Kieran.....we stayed at a large Victorian House, on the lower Cobh Road....called the Seafield....the owners..Margot and Eoghan Allen and their family made our stay excellent...truly what a lovely family. From our room we would view the Harbour, and small boats first thing....and same over a hearty breakfast...mmmm!!! brilliant.....(Katy getting moody.....ahh!! wish I was back right now...)
((Hugs)) to all cheers Katy
Ahhhh!!! Katy.....no messages to read on site......no laughter.....no smily faces.....no hugs from anyone.....ahh!! its a good job it was a sunny day very warm and blue skies......or I would be feeling low....just like Ned was last week....lol......he he he only kidding......are you all out with a BBQ down under.....and is K...riding the waves on the Harbour.......ahh!!! lol........:) :) Katy.....:)
Ya I know the house, area and folks Katy. I'm sure you had lovely views from there. pity about the weather though!
Hi Kieran....weather in Cobh was not that much of a problem....like at home we are hardy....so if we get a shower of rain......then we go indoors......not just the pub either lol
The only time we got soaked was when we went into Cork Town Centre........and the rain came down non stop......by the time we got the train Back to Cobh...the sun was splitting the trees......great time for taking photos.....cheers Katy
Nice new expression "Sun splitting the threes" we are used to the rocks here! lol
speaking of lazy feckers, where has our Ned vanished to. Must be some party they are having down under for the return of the prodical Eoghan?
LOL....Hi Kieran......I wonder if Eoghan has taken Ned.....a dozen or so boxes of Taytos....asstd ones..lol....
And Ned is hiding in the garden shed with his secret stash.....as I dont think he will want to share any..... OMG.....just thought when Ned gets back and reads this ahh!! no more hugs for Katy......
And I just remembered was that World Music Festival with all the celebs on last weekend.....maybe Neds gone all hippy for the Australian part..and he is camping out someplace......having a secret cigarette......lol.......'Come Home Ned...All is Forgiven'.....cheers Katy;) ;)
Ya, spot on Katy, thats looks like Ned from my memory of him, though since its more than 30 years since I last saw him, hes probably a little grey'er by now !
Hi Kieran......so the pic of hippy wont offend our Ned....good.....truly though I wonder whats up.....we get told off for not posting on site then our Ned ..does the Invisible Man trick.....oooooohhhh!!!
As long as no health probs have turned up for him .....we will let him off for not posting.....as long as he dishes up all the gossip about this very long lasting party.......lol.....cheers Katy:)

Was at a funeral last week Ned in the pissing rain , where the Mayor (a wee man) was holding an umbrella above both our heads. By the time we got to the cemetery, I had a hump on my back. I had no hair to keep dry, but couldnt chat with him while i was up there and he was down below the brolly talking to himself so I sucumbed!
