Just a growing pellet till they get to about two months and then I'll put them with the other chooks and feed them layer pellets and plenty of vegies and hopefully get some free range eggs out of them! We have'nt bought eggs in ages as we are well supplied !
Nothin like growin yer own grub I reckon!
We also get a couple of lambs every winter and they keep the grass down and when summer comes and theres no feed left, A guy I know comes over and butchers them for us, plenty of meat for a few months!
I suppose might sound a bit cruel to some but eh no different to getting it from the supermarket, Just a bit more real!

When I lived in the sticks many moons ago, I had the chicks, included bantoms, ducks and geese. There was a gander that was better than any wathdog. Had a goat too, but he used eat the clothes off the washing line, and had to go!

Only 2 of the original four one day ol chooks left, They died for some reason unknown to meself??? The remaining 2 seem to be going alright, the're with the rest of the chooks now but to say the least they are the bottom of the pecking order!
