A guy goes to the Council to apply for a job. The interviewer asks him

"Have you been in the armed services?"

Yes" he says "I was in the Falklands for three years."

The interviewer says "That will give you extra points toward employment"
and then asks "Are you disabled in any way?"

The guy says "Yes 100%... a land mine blew my testicles off."

The interviewer tells the guy "OK.I can hire you right now. The hours
are from 8:00 AM. to 4:00 PM. You can start tomorrow. Come in at 10:00
AM."

The guy is puzzled and says "If the hours are from 8:00 AM. To 4:00 PM
why do you want me to come in at 10:00 AM? "

"This is a council job" the interviewer replies.

"For the first two hours we sit around scratching our balls no point in
you coming in for that........"

God Ned, you have a poor opinion of Council workers. How did form such a view?

On a serious note. There was a massive clean up of all the streets and roads of the Great Island yesterday, led by Sonia O'Sullivan. A massive respones. Not a single council worker to be seen. Plenty of councillors and would be TD's though. Paddy Histon and I finished up collecting all the rubbish at 9.30 last night. Theres not a spare cooker, fridge or microwave left up in Russell Heights. We even collected old xmas trees. I heard the Links had the least number of bags collected even theough its the biggfest est on the Island. U2 got a pke in afterwards!

The two Padraigs? One paddy did all the work and drove the truck, the other 'Admiral Whitty' gave the orders in between diving infront of camera's. I c our Mike didnt take the bait yet about the Links.

You missed a good open air U2 concert at the white-point 5 foot way Ned. They were actually a cover band but sounded exactly like the real mcCoy. Mike said to me at one stage, "Look at yer man, he loves himself", refering to the lead singer ( Bono look alike). Mike didnt seem to undersatand that yer boyo was imitaing the great one in every way, with voice and actions. That was why he looked like he loved himself. - great sounds though!
