As you know we have secured a deal with Nova Networks to provide 'The Links' with Wireless Broadband beginning mid June. There are so far 25 houses wishing to avail of this service. You can get more information at the next meeting on June 13th or by contacting Mike Bardsley.

Wireless? does that mean you have to have a *hotspot* close to the links/ sounds expensive, Hope I'm wrong!

Cheap enough for what's around and what's available to the Links area anyway. Signal to be run from Glenbrook directly into the Links.

We had eircom wireless here at first Mike and it was crap. Hope you have better luck with it. K :-?

what kind of price are we looking at, what upload and download speeds and whats the contention ratio(how many users on at one time , max number)

Richie: presuming they'll be offering the same packages as elsewhere it'll start at €39/month for 1 meg up and down, 20:1 contention. More details on www.novanetworks.ie

Have had confirmation from Nova this afternoon that the service will be ready by the end of next week, so those of you that are still interested, make sure you make the next meeting on June 13th to ensure you get the good price.

My daughter lives there and she has no broadband either. I have the Eircom one myself but rarely use it though.
