According to the attached article on Breakingnews.ie Sports Cobh Ramblers FC boss Stephen Henderson has admitted that the club is broke.
Now I wouldn't pretend to being an avid fan of Ramblers or regular attender of matches at St. Colman's Park but I do support my (adopted) home team and like to do them doing well. I have slightly divided loyalties towards Cork City being a native of the city but since I'm now an adopted Cobhonian when push comes to shove and the two play each other as they will do on Saturday, I would now support Ramblers.
It is only a short few months ago since the team were celebrating their 1st Division victory and we all marched along the town front to the Town Hall. We then watched with delight when they were promoted to the Premier League and thought they were on the pig's back. Well speaking of pigs it appears that they haven't brought home the bacon and now the club is in serious trouble (like its city counterpart which is now in administration).
How did it come to this?
