Sad news this morning that the Irish sail-training vessel Asgard II has sunk in the Bay of Biscay after taking in water. Thankfully the crew of 25 have been taken to safety.

The Asgard was a regular visitor to Cobh, especially at regatta time and will be a big loss to this country as she was a great ambassador for promoting tourism here.
