Well the sun is trying to poke its head through here but there's a sea fog which is refusing to go away and a good chance of rain today.

An Irish song? Well here's one, it's not one of those written in Boston out of nostalgia in the 19th century, but a real home-grown song in Gaeilge (Irish) about an Irish chieftain called Felim who perishes trying to escape his enemies, presumably, er.... the English.

This is one I presume anyone who was in primary school here in the 1960s or early 1970s would remember. I can't find a sound file for it but I'm sure there's one out there somewhere.

Nice one Fulla, I recall hearing it alot sooner on the old RTE TV station when it was nationalist and prior to it becoming anglancised. Only later did I hear it in school!

I dont have the sound but it looked massive. That second mountain in the background wasnt on Tory was it? It looked like somewhere in Canada or at the other side of the Atlanta, am I right in guesssing?

I think it was Errigal, Co. Donegal taken from a couple of different angles Kieran. According to the details on the right hand side of the page all the photos were taken in and around Gweedore. Nice country up there, I have been up there a few times but Glenties is still my favourite spot there.
