Speaker van?

There's some fecker going around Cobh this morning in a car or van with a public address blaring out. I can't make out what's being said as it's a wild and windy day but it isn't an ice cream van and there's no election on (as far as I know anyway). Anyone know what's up?

Hi Fulla, sometimes at home when the 'Water Company' are doing emergency work they send someone out and about screaming .a garbled message from a loudhailer....just a thought.cheers Katy

The Tune you heard Fulla was 'Convoy' from the movie of the same name. A convoy of 12 big trucks left Cobh yesterday morning -Cobh to Youghal, doing a collection for 'Breaking the Silence' the suicide support group. The driver of the speaker van was a Taxi-driver neighbour of yours!

I see, I had no idea what was going on and it was too wet to put my nose outside the door. Convoy reminds me of my misspent youth and CB radio days 25 years ago.
