Trapattoni was born near Milan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Province_of_Milan).
He had a successful career as a player with AC Milan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.C._Milan) in the 1960s and early 1970s. Playing primarily as a defender and midfielder with the goal to pass the ball to more creative players such as Giovanni Lodetti (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giovanni_Lodetti) and Gianni Rivera (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gianni_Rivera), he played also for the Italian team, mostly as centre back with notable marking skills. He did not play many games for AC Milan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_Milan) because he was getting injured . After a break from the Italian giants, he thought he could settle with mid-table team for one last season instead of being at one club all his life. This is when he moved to Varese (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.S._Varese_1910), after a successful season with them, He then retired from football and took a job as a manager two years later.

Any man born on St Paddy's Day no matter he comes from must be the right man for the Irish Job!

I'm not too sure about that Kieran. The following were all born on 17th March (different years of course):-

Gottlieb Daimler
Nat King Cole
Rudolf Nureyev
John Wayne Gacy (that's right, the serial killer)
Kurt Russell
Stephen Gately (Boyzone)

I'm not sure any of them would have made good Ireland managers.

Global warming, How fast its come. If nothing is done now we will all bear the consequences, In the last 24 hours 600 mills of rain was dumped on queensland, never been heard of before. Yet here in Perth we've had buggerall, If we sit on our arses and do nothing what will our great grandkids think about the greedy generation, presuming they still have a planet to live on???

c'mon Ned tight-arse, go out a buy some Peckham Spring!

Ned Kelly
16-02-2008, 09:39
Peckham Spring he says, are you talking bout bottled water a chara?
What a con that is, no better than tap water! It comes in plastic bottles and where do the bottles go straight into landfill, very little recycled and also made from oil products, NUFF SAID?

Katy

Hi Ned we have a system for collecting plastic containers, and for recyling papers, cans, glass....pretty much every thing....even one local council has a unit that takes old washers, hoovers etc......they repair them or use them for spare parts...then sell them on at a reasonable price.

I have a sort out twice a year, curtains, furniture or smaller household items.....and books and donate the lot to local charity shops.
My last bargain buy was some brand new photography books, each only costing a few euros (pounds) if you purchased the same ones in a major book store.....aahh!! one book was priced at £15 pounds....
I passed them onto a neighbour who helps with gardening advice......oohh!! and some magic flowers......cheers Katy:)

Yes Katy, we have a recycling service over here too, most of it goes offshore to asian countries, more than likely heaps of it fall into the ocean on its travels and whatevers left goes into landfill wherever it ends up. The world produces way too much too recycle even 10% of it, have a look at the stuff we consume, packaging theres way too much of it and thats only the start, globalisation is the main culprit, because we all demand products at the cheapest price available, which leads to more and more importation of a lot goods that can be made or grown locally. I could go on and on but the main cause of global warming is globalisation, the amount of fuel that it takes to transport these products is astronomical. I'll stop here but i'm sure you all realise that the cheaper the goods the more it costs in the longrun!
